+In black leather, otherwise you will get discolouration.
+Coat in beeswax.

+I like them thin, for my leather-bound disk, but if you
+want a thicker one, you can take a it in two layers, add
+edges vax, add a groove (for the thread) along the edges,
+and saw them togather with a nice thick thread. Obviously
+this is how you would also do placemats and mouse pads.
