The
.BR libaxl_close ()
function deallocates the connection record
specified in the
.I conn
parameter, and closes the file descriptor of
the connection (without first shutting down
the connection).

If
.I conn
is
.IR NULL ,
the function will return 0 without doing
anything.
.SH RETURN VALUE
The
.BR libaxl_close ()
function returns 0 upon completion except if there
the file descriptor could not be closed or if there
was an asynchronous failure.
.SH ERRORS
The
.BR libaxl_close ()
function can fail if for any reason specified
for the
.BR close (3)
function, and will in these cases return
.IR LIBAXL_ERROR_SYSTEM .
