Depending on your computer, the details of @command{adjbacklight} differs. For some computers program will adjust the same parameters as the keys on your keyboard, one other computers this program will adjust an independent parameter allowing more detailed adjustment and may not be affected by the battery status change. One some computers the keys for the suns does not do anything and is expected to be binded by the OS, for thoses computers this may be the best choice if you are in the TTY. @command{adjbacklight} allows 0.5 % precision, assuming that the firmware allows at least that. If you want higher precision, it is simple to modify the source code.
